JAMMU, Oct 23: BSF Cricket Team lost to Border Super Kings by 55 runs in the second match of the Maharaja Hari Singh Cricket Tournament, being organized by Dharmashakti at Cricket ground, Arnia, near here.
Batting first, Boder Super Kings scored a big total of 191 runs in the stipulated 15 overs. Balu scored 61 runs while Deepak contributed 39 runs to the total.
In reply, the entire team of BSF scored 135 runs in 14.3 overs. Captain Narendra Rana (Deputy Commandant of BSF) played an important innings of 52 runs for his team but this was not enough to win the match.
What was good to see in the match was the sportsman spirit shown by the players of BSF team as one of the players Rana left the field despite umpire’s not out call, which is otherwise, not a custom in the present era.
Earlier, floral tributes were paid to the soldiers of the 8 JAK Li of Indian Army who were martyred in Sunderbani.
Maharaja Hari Singh Cricket Tournament is being organized by Dharmashakti for the purpose of encouraging youth to take part in sports and to stay away from drugs and other allied evils.
