Vasu Dewan, Dheeraj Arora enter men’s QFs

JAMMU, Nov 27: Vasu Dewan and Dheeraj Arora got the better of their rivals in the pre-quarterfinal matches to enter the quarterfinals of the ongoing 39th Stag J&K State Table Tennis Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association at MA Stadium, here today.
Vasu dewan defeated Saboor Qazi Inam (Srinagar) 3-0, while Dheeraj Arora beat Adhiraj 3-0.
In other matches of men’s singles event, Ritvik drubbed Sanpreet 3-2, Anuj got the better of Gurvinder 3-2, Ketan outplayed Manandeep 3-2, Sandeep Khadotra outclassed Faisal Mir 3-0 and Asad Sharma prevailed over Anil Datta 3-0.
In Sub Junior Boys Pre-Quarterfinals, Saksham trounced Sourav 3-0, Sarth Jain beat Divyansh 3-0, Mahi Kailu drubbed Arnav 3-0, Akhilesh outplayed Madhav 3-0, Manya Masotra got the better of Manan Jain 3-1, Sudhikshan beat Aarit 3-0, Rohan outplayed Rachit Mahajan 3-0.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach), Narinder Kour (NIS Coach), Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma (Coach).
Nazir Ahmed, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Kashmir, Haji Abdul Qayoom Sports Officer Central and Prof Bashir, Member Sports Council J&K witnessed the matches and encouraged the players on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan,  Anil Dutta, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra, Salim Bandey and Sanjeev Gupta.
