JAMMU, Nov 19: “Let’s Play” Football Tournament, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (GOI) with the co-branding of Khelo India will begin very soon as the registration process for the same has concluded now.
This was informed by Director Youth Services and Sports Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, in a statement issued here.
While providing details about the tournament, Mr Fayaz said that the online registration for the mega Football event has been completed.
He said that a total no of 54,701 youth from all the 22 districts of the state have got themselves registered online of which 31 percent comprises of girl players.
“The participating players have been registered under 3265 Schools and 3729 Teams”, he said.
He further said that District Baramulla has topped the process of registration with more than 6 thousand registrations followed by District Rajouri with 4400 and District Anantnag with about 3800 online registrations.
Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed also appreciated the efforts of all District Youth Services and Sports Officers and their subordinate staff for making the registration processes a success with such record number of entries.
Mr Fayaz further said that Let’s Play Football Tournament is the first of its kind event to be hosted by the State.
