Punjab wrestler Gani lifts Domana Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU, Nov 5: Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab clinched the 10th Domana Kesari Dangal title outplaying wrestler Shinda of Ludhiana in Punjab in the main bout that lasted for 11 minutes at Domana, here today.
Gani was awarded a cash prize of Rs 16,000, while runners-up wrestler Shinda was presented Rs 12,000 by the chief guest SHO Ch Vijay Singh, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch Shamsher Singh and Naib Sarpanch Raj Hussain. The dangal was organized by Baba Mir Shah Dangal Committee Domana in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in the memory of Baba Mir Shah.
In the vishal dangal 90 bouts were played, wherein local wrestlers besides wrestlers from northern States participated.
In the second main bout wrestler Benia of J&K Police of Basantgarh in District Udhampur beat wrestler Dharminder of Alamgir Akhara in Punjab that lasted for 20 minutes. Rs 16,000 were awarded to wrestler Benia while runner-up wrestler was awarded with cash prize of Rs 12,000. Members and technical committee officials who helped for conduct of smooth Dangal included Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Naib Sarpanch Raj Hussain, Choudhery Bhutto Khan, Bittu, Parmjeet Pammi, Bodh Raj Balraj, Subash Singh Chib, Mohd. Sharif, Mohd. Fareed, Om Parkash Sharma, Lucky, Romesh Chander (Maheshi), Naresh Kumar, Shamsher Singh.
