Dubai, June 19:
India have slipped to number 3 in the latest ICC ODI Rankings released today after the Men in Blue were thrashed by Pakistan in the final of the Champions Trophy.
India who were earlier at the 2nd spot in ODI rankings with 118 rating have slipped to number 3 after they faced a 180-run defeat at the hands of Pakistan yesterday in the finals of Champions Trophy.
With this defeat India have lost 2 points with 116 rating. Despite facing early exit from the tournament Australia are one point ahead of India at the second spot with 117 rating regaining their earlier ranking.
South Africa who were also the contender for the Champions Trophy performed badly, but still remain static at number one spot with 119 rating.
Pakistan who were nowhere in the tournament, surprised everyone and reached the finals of the Champions Trophy for the first time but also claimed the Champions Trophy title.
This is their third biggest win in the ICC tournaments. However, with this feat Pakistan has jumped two places to number 6 from 8th spot.
Pakistan is at no 6 with 95 rating, England no 3 with 113 rating, New Zealand 5th with 111 rating, Bangladesh who reached the semi-finals in the tournament for the very first time are at no 7 with 94 rating, Sri Lanka has slipped to no 8th with 93 rating, West Indies 77, Afghanistan 54, Zimbabwe 46 and Ireland 41.
