POONCH, Nov 5: Faisal Mir clinched the men’s singles title by defeating Paropkar Singh in a keenly contested match by 11-9, 9-11,11-8,11-8 here today. While in men’s doubles, defending champion Salil Raina and Sandeep Luthra beat Narinder and Faisal 11-9,11-9,8-11,11-7

Earlier, president District TT Association Poonch, Ajeet Singh Jeet presented a detailed report of the achievements of District T.T Association Poonch in promoting the game.
Speaking on the occasion, Er Saleem Bandey, Gen Secretary of the association said that Poonch Table tennis association is regularly organising the said tournament for the last 26 years and that to without any facility for indoor games. He also thanked J&K Table tennis association for continuous support to District Table tennis association. Bandey also sought the attention of government over under constructed indoor sports complex at sports stadium Poonch.
Renowned Anchor Pardeep Khanna threw light on the history of T.T Association Poonch and also conducted the proceedings.
Ch Zulifkar Ali, while speaking on the occasion said that District Poonch is blessed with huge talent in indoor games in Poonch District. He said that government under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti is keen to developed sports infrastructure in all the districts of the state. He lauded the contribution of District Table Tennis Association in promoting the game for the last 26 years and assured full support to the association in future.
