APS Kaluchak wins Gold in boys, girls Basketball, GHSS Rabta wins Gold, Silver, Bronze in Athletics

JAMMU, Oct 19: The Day 6 of School Olympics was marked by very exciting and keenly contested matches of Basketball finals, played at MA Stadium, here today.
Army Public School (APS), Kaluchak won Gold in both girls’ and boys’ Basketball, thereby placing themselves very high in the medal tally. In girls’, APS Kaluchak defeated APS Jammu Cantt in the final. Jodhamal Public School settled for Bronze. In boys, APS Kaluchak crushed APS Ratnuchak in the final. MHAC, Nagbani settled for Bronze.
In Badminton, SRML Parade won Gold in boys’ doubles. In girls’ doubles, KV No. 1 won Gold by defeating GHSS, Rehari. In girls’ Athletics, MHAC Nagbani won the Gold in 4×100 meters relay, wherein Presentation Convent won Silver and HSS Rabta won Bronze. In 3000 meters, GHSS Rabta won both Gold and Silver. In Long Jump, GHSS Jullaka Mohalla won Gold, GHSS Sangrampur won Silver and Presentation Convent secured Bronze.
In Discus throw, BSF Paloura won both Gold and Silver, whereas Presentation Convent clinched Bronze. In boys’ Football, KV No. 2 defeated SRML Parade in the first semis to enter final. In second semifinal, MHAC, Nagbani smashed Jodhamal School by 2-0 and entered into final.
Rangeel Singh, President J&K Olympic Association, was the chief guest on the occasion of Basketball final, who awarded the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Sushma Chauhan, Director Tourism, Jammu, who was the guest of honour. DC Jammu Simrandeep Singh was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, GHSS Jourian will play against Sainik School, Nagrota in the Gold medal match at MA Stadium in boys’ Volleyball. St Francis Akhnoor will take on BSF Paloura in the Gold medal match at boys’ Kabaddi, whereas, St Francis Akhnoor will lock horns with SOS Hermann in the final of girls’ Kabaddi. In boys’ Football, MHAC, Nagbani will play KV No. 2 in the final. The finals of boys & girls Badminton Singles will be held at Police Indoor Complex.
