JAMMU, Oct 5: A tehsil level Wrestling Tournament was organised in Keri by the Army. A total of five teams from Rajouri, Darhal, Manjakote, Keri and Jamola participated in the tournament.
The tournament was an impressive display of talent and sportsmanship by all teams. The final matches for various weight categories were conducted after intense preliminary rounds and the winners and runners up in various weight categories were given cash prizes.
The overall winner was Jamola Wrestling team. The selection of the district team was also finalised based on the performance of the players in the final matches.
The players selected for the district team were motivated and enchanted at the prospects of playing at the inter district level tournament.
The event was witnessed by a large numbers of locals including school children, who cheered the players through the course of the tournament.
