Manohar Lal asks youth to stay away from drugs

KATHUA, July 2: To promote rich Dogra culture, rural games and to give a platform to the young wrestlers to show their specific talent and spread a message of unity and sportsmanship, Dadwara Youth Dangal Committee of Village Dadwara, Bhadu, Tehsil Billawar organized the wrestling competitions in Tehsil Billawar.
On the occasion, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Senior Congress Leader, General Secretary PCC and Former Minister was the chief guest.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma distributed first prize of Rs 51,000 to winner wrestler Abdul Gani of Malakote and runner up wrestler Bhupinder Singh of Punjab, while second and third bouts ended in a draw.
A total of 67 bouts were played between different wrestlers from the J&K and adjoining States-Punjab, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan and Himachal Pardesh.
The dangal organizing Committee who made all efforts to make the event successful were Vikas Raina, President, Shambu Dutt, Subash Sharma, Secretary Khursheed, Birbal Organizer, Parven Raina Member, Kuldeep Kumar, Puran Kumar Retd Sub Inspector, Sanjay Raina and Sanjay Kumar, Capt Nek Ram and Retd SI Puran Chand.
Dr Sharma appealed the youth to stay away from drugs and take healthy diet to make the nation healthy and strong.
Among others present were Ali Mohammad Lone, Retd Tehsildar, Balwant Raj Gupta, Dr Narinder Vaid BCC president, Sarpanches namely Narinder Sharma Bhaddu, Romesh Sapolia Barota, Sham Sapolia and Dr Tara Chand.
