JAMMU, Apr 14: Pranav Kohli scored magnificent 123 runs off just 50 balls as Legal Stars defeated Legal Riders by a huge margin of 150 runs in the semifinals today to seal berth in the finals of the cricket tournament as part of Lawyers Annual Sports Meet at Jammu University ground, here.
Earlier, Legal Star after winning the toss and batting first scored a mammoth total of 213 runs in the allotted 15 overs. Pranav Kohli was the highest scorer with 123 runs, while Gourav Jamwal remained unbeaten on 28 runs. Sarjeevan took 3 wickets for Legal Riders.
In reply, Legal Riders bundled out for 63 runs. Sarjeevan was the highest scorer with 21 runs, while Rohit scored 18 runs. For Legal Star XI, Parvesh Salaria and Samiullah took 2 wickets each, while AP Singh, Sanjay Sharma and Irfan Khan took 1 wicket each. Legal Star won the match by a huge margin of 150 runs.
In the second semifinal, Paradise XI defeated Royal XI by 64 runs.
Paradise XI after winning the toss chose to bat first and scored 189 runs in 15 overs. Sahil Aggarwal was the top scorer with 69 runs whereas, Narayan scored 47 runs and Guru Partap Singh contributed 38 runs. For Royal XI, Varun Raina, Rohit Gupta and Vishal Parihar took 1 wicket each. Chasing the target, Royal XI scored 126 runs. Touqeer was the highest scorer with 47 runs, whereas Vishal Parihar scored 19 runs and Aditya Gupta chipped in with 14 runs. For Paradise XI, Nitin Bhasin took 3 wickets, Rohan and Ajay Singh Manhas took 2 wickets each, while Ravi Abrol and Guru Partap Singh took 1 wicket each.
Meanwhile, in the Football Tournament, the first match was played between the Great Warriors and the “A” Team, which the “A” Team won by 6-0. Surinder Singh scored 3 brilliant goals, while A.P. Singh, Sanjay Sharma and Jahanzaib Hamal pelted 1 goal each.
In tanother match of Football Tournament, Strikers XI defeated Great Warriors by 6-0. Vikash Sharma scored 3 goals, while Avish Sharma scored 2 goals and Bawa Ditta pelted one.
The final Football match was played between Strikers XI and the A ‘Team’ which was won by Team-A led by AP Singh by 5-2. For Strikers XI, 2 goals were scored by Avish Sharma. For ‘A’ Team, Ravinder Kumar scored 3 goals, while Jahanzaib and Surinder netted one goal each.
