BARAMULLA, Feb 11 : Terming sports vital for the growth and development of youth, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal today called for frequently organising sports events in the district.
The DDC was speaking during the closing ceremony of District Badminton championship held at Jehlum Indoor stadium Janbazpora Baramulla.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Khan, SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and other officers were present during the function. Besides, many spectators also attended the closing ceremony.
Appreciating the players for participating in the tournament, the DDC said that such events not only serve as a method of recreation but are important for the physical and mental development of the youth. The DDC also appreciated the District Badminton Association for conducting the Sports event.
Meanwhile, the DDC directed that the roof of the Indoor stadium be repaired immediately. SSP Baramulla also announced funds for repairment of corridor of the indoor stadium.
