KATHUA, Dec 26: Love helped Shabnam Cricket Club Hoshiarpur to register resounding victory over Stadium XI Kathua, while Rahul’s brilliant fifty helped Akshay Star Cricket Club to thrash their rivals in the ongoing 6th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club Cricket Tournament, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match played today, Akshay Star Kohli Cricket Club Kathua won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Rudar Cricket Club Delhi set a target of 84 runs in 19.5 overs. Amanjeet scored 26 runs. Vision Panchal of Akshay Star Kohli Cricket Club, Kathua took 4 wickets by conceding 19 runs in 3.5 overs. Akshay Star Kohli Cricket Club easily chased the target in 10.1 overs by losing 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Rahul Teweita, who scored 50* runs in just 37 balls was declared as man of the match and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs1500 and a trophy.
In another match, Shabnam Cricket Club, Hoshiarpur won the toss and chose to bat first to set a decent target of 161 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. Love Kumar, who scored 66 runs in just 51 balls with the help of 8 boundaries was a top scorer. Rompy of Stadium XI took 3 wickets by conceding 22 runs in 4 overs.
Stadium XI Kathua could not chase the target and scored only 137 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Love Kumar who scored 66 runs in just 51 balls was declared as man of the match and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a trophy.
