DODA, Dec 3: Government Degree College Doda bagged overall 2nd position in Chenab Valley Youth Festival ‘SANGAM 2015’ organised by Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu and 4 Rashtriya Rifles Bihar.
A team of 17 students under the guidance of incharge teachers Dr. Wahied Khawar Balwan, Assistant Professor in Zoology, Pawan Kumar, Librarian Shabir Ahmed and Lecturer Ajay Singh won 18 medals which includes 5 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.
Principal GDC Doda, Dr R K Raina lauded the students and in-charge teachers for this achievement and bringing laurels to GDC Doda. The gold medal winners included Umar Farooq in Face painting and sketching, Nadeem in Shot put, Aaquib Javed in Chess and Zeeshan Tasaduq in Photography.
The silver medal winners included Hariz after in Face painting, Clay Moulding and Poster making, Zahid Gazi in Javeline throw and Jaafar Hussain in debate.
The bronze medal winners included Nadeem Tantrey in Rangoon and Quiz, Zahid in high jump, Shahid in Clay Moulding, Arvind , Deepak, Kuljinder, Sudesh, Aftab, Sajad and Manjeet in skit.
The faculty members of the College including Prof Bashir Ahmed, Prof Babu Ram, Prof. Ashwani, Dr Javed Tramboo, Dr Ajaz Ahmed and Prof Falak.
