Information deptt organizes symposium, film show

KATRA,  Aug 27:   Miss Asra, a student of 9th standard was adjudged best speaker in the symposium on “Role of Women in the  Society” held at Government High School Katra here today.   The symposium was organized by the District Information Center Udhampur.
Second and third positions were clinched by Shilpa Rajput of class 7th and   Bandna of class 9th respectively while two consolation prizes were bagged by Miss Shabnam of 10th class and Priyanka of of 9th class.  The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit.
As many as, 13 students of the host institution participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic.
On the occasion, a film show was also organized by the department of Women Empowerment which was witnessed by over 250 girl students of different classes.
Principal Higher Secondary School Katra, Tripta Devi who was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winners.
