JAMMU, Sept 28: Lifting 135 kilograms in 74 kg weight category, Shiv Dev Singh became Power Man in Senior Category of 1st Open Junior, Senior and Master J&K Bench Press, while Sandeep Singh became Power Man in Junior Category by lifting 115 kilograms in 66 kg weight category.
Minister of Health and Medical Education, Ch Lal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and the runners-up players.
120 players participated in the Championship, which was organized by J&K Power Lifting Forum under the supervision of Amit Magotra, Ajay Sharma, Sanjeev Singh and Vinay Sharma.
Earlier, in 59 kg senior category, Sawan Kumar, Vishal Dogra and Shubham Gupta claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in junior category of this weight, Sawan Kumar, Shubham Gupta and Ajay Vaid clinched gold, silver and bronze respectively. Mohinder won gold in master category.
In 66 kg senior category, Sandeep Singh won gold, Om Dutt bagged silver and Tejinder Singh claimed bronze, while in junior category of this weight, Sandeep Singh, Tarun Dev Singh and Sunil Dogra. Raman Sharma claimed gold in master category.
In 74 kg, Shiv Dev Singh, Sandeep Banmotra and Gourav Nagar won gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in junior category of this weight, Arjun Saini, Gourav Nagar and Raman Choudhary claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In 83 kg senior category, Harish Kumar won gold, Gurpreet Singh clinched silver and Dushyant Ghai claimed bronze, while in junior category of this weight, Dushyant Ghai, Niteshwar Singh and Rajan Singh bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. Waris Gill won gold in master category in this weight group.
In 93 kg, Adil Ashraf, Deepak Chalotra and Waquar Paul clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while Deepak Chalotra, Waquar Paul and Mridul Ghai bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in junior category. Mohinder Paul Khajuria clinched gold in master category.
In 105 kg, Raoshan Raina, Parvinder Singh and Raman Kumar claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in senior category, while in junior category of this weight, Parveen Singh, Taspreet Singh and Sonu Singh Jamwal claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 120 kg, Rohit Sahrma and Johny Manhas claimed gold and silver in senior category, while Abhishek Rajput and Faizal Paul clinched gold in junior and master category respectively.
In 120 kg, Dhanuk Mansotra won gold in both senior and junior categories.
