JAMMU, Sept 5: Securing a total of 18 points, GCW Parade bagged overall trophy in the women’s section of the Inter-Collegiate Fencing (M&W) Championships 2015-16, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here today.
The overall Championship in men’s section went to MIET Jammu by securing 21 points.
Earlier, in Epee men team event, SPMR College of Commerce bagged gold, GDC Udhampur got silver, while the bronze medal was shared by MAM College and MIET Jammu.
In Foil men team event, GDC Udhampur won gold, while MIET Jammu bagged silver medal. SPMR College of Commerce and MAM College shared bronze medals.
Prof J.L Bhagat, Principal, SPMR College of Commerce was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who awarded medals and trophies to the winners, while Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu presided over the function.
Prominent among others present were Ajaz Malik, Suman Lata, Vijay Kumari (Physical Directors), Salim Raza Qureshi, Dr Brij Baloria, Ravis Vaid, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Romesh Sharma, Gagan Kumar and PD Singh (Incharge Tournament).
The Championship was officiated by Shotu Lal Sharma, Rachna Jamwal, Pritam Singh Slathia, Ujjawal Gupta, Ajay Khartol and Maninderpal Singh.
