JAMMU, Aug 14: To represent the State in the 25th Junior Men Tug of War National Championship to be held at Pune in Maharashtra, the Jammu and Kashmir Tug of War Association, under the presidentship of Hardeep Singh Anand has selected the team, here today.
The team was picked after holding a 5-days camp at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadhigarh, Jammu, wherein 23 players participated, out of which 9 were selected for the said championship.
The team: Gurjot Singh, Balpreet Singh, Pawandeep Singh, Ajay Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Anil Kumar, Ravi Thappa, Harjinder Singh and Devinder Singh.
Pawandeep Singh and Sunil Chakharia shall accompany the team as coach and manager respectively.
Meanwhile, chief guest, Rattandeep Singh Anand distributed kits among the players, sponsored by Hotel Asia and Bharat Small Arms Private Limited, Kathua.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ravinder Singh Sasan, general secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Tug of War Association, Jodh Singh Isher, Jasvir Singh, Ajay Peshin and Deepkaran Anand.
