KOLKATA, Aug 10:
Medium pacer Asoka Dinda today said he would give his best to perform well for India in coming Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka next month.
‘I will give my best to perform well to keep ball on wicket and find fault with the batsman,’ Dinda said while asked on his inclusion in the Indian squad for T20.
Both Dinda and his state mate Manoj Tiwari have been named in the squad.
He said Bengal was getting attention (from BCCI) for its performance in recent years at t20, Vijay Hazare and Duleep Trophy.’ Our next aim would be winning Ranji Trophy,’ to keep momentum in the domestic cricket, Dinda told a local tv.
He also expressed happiness over inclusion of Manoj Tiwari, saying his presence in the team helps him very much for consultation and discussion.
Dinda, who claimed four wickets conceding 19 runs in India’s 39-run victory over Sri Lanka in lone T20, said ‘we have been playing together in the state for many years together and his precence in the Indian camp is always heart warming.’
Dinda also lauded the legacy of Sourav Ganguly saying his acumen as the cricketer had been magnificent.
The young speedstar said ‘dada’ (Ganguly) had been quite important personality on the cricketing ability on present day of players.’ His tips and advice had been very important on us,’ Dinda said. (UNI)
