JKP XI, Trikuta XI register wins in 3rd Christmas T-20 Cup

JAMMU, Jan 11: JKP-XI and Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) registered victories and entered in the next round of the ongoing 3rd Christmas T-20 Cricket Cup for college students and J&K cricketers at Parade Cricket ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, JKP XI defeated Eleven Star by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Eleven Star scored 83 runs in stipulated 18 overs for the loss of all wickets. Irshad scored 27 runs, whereas Sumit made 18 runs and Sahil contributed with 12 runs.
For JKP XI side, Shamsher Singh was the pick of the bowler with 5 wickets, Rajesh Gill took 3 wickets, whereas Shashi and Pankaj shared 1 wicket each.
JKP XI in reply achieved the target in 12 overs by losing 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Suman Koul scored 42 runs and Farooq Ahmad made 21 runs.
For Eleven Star side, Irshad took 2 wickets, Sumit and Tarun shared 1 wicket each.
Shamsher Singh of JKP XI was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, Trikuta XI scripted a comfortable win over Friends XI by 9 wickets.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Friends XI made 118 runs in 15 overs by losing 3 wickets. Naresh played well and scored 55 runs, whileas Tripathi made 37 runs.
For Trikuta XI side, Rahul took 2 wickets.
In reply, Trikuta XI chased the target in 12.4 overs for the loss of just 1 wicket. Arun Sharma scored unbeaten 53 runs, whereas Riaz also contributed 43 runs.
For Friends XI side, Sunil took 1 wicket.
Arun Sharma of Trikuta XI was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Suhail Yusuf, Vinod and Farooq.
SSP, CID Jammu Shailender Singh was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams by Rajesh Gill, Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the final match of JKP New Year Veteran T-20 Cup will be played between Sr JKP and Choudhary Cricket Club tomorrow at the same venue.
