Music plays vital role to ease stress: DIG Prisons

JAMMU, Dec 4: The artists of Cultural Wing of Information Department today organized a cultural programme in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal for its inmates.
On the occasion, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Dr Mohd Sultan Lone was the chief guest.
In his address, DIG thanked the Cultural Wing of Information in organizing a wonderful programme.
He said that today’s variety show provided enjoyable atmosphere to inmates in jail.
He requested the Information Department to organize such type of programmes in future also in other jails of the Jammu region.
He said that music plays a vital role in easing stress.
Earlier, SG Superintendent Jail, Dinesh Sharma  presented welcome address.
During the Cultural Programme, the artists of Cultural Wing, Jail inmates and Armed Department enthralled the audience with musical items.
Artists who performed in the Cultural Programme included Jeevan  Sharma,  Vijay  Anand, Zulekha  Farid, Sunil Sharma, Bodh  Raj,   Kamal Kumar, Surjeet  Singh Sumbria, Bunty  Kumar, Vishal Mattoo and Puneet Kumar.
Other  officers  present  in  the  programme  were  Cultural Officer Information Department, Raman Joshi, Sr Medical  Officer, Rajinder Kumar, Medical  Officer and Assistant  Commandant, CRPF.
