JAMMU, June 8: Surjeet Choudhary (International Master Athlete) and Ajay Pal Gill have brought pride to Jammu and Kashmir by winning multiple medals at the Sanyukta Bhartiya Khel Foundation (SBKF) 14th National Games 2026, organised at the Athletics Synthetic Track & Indoor Hall, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
Surjeet Choudhary delivered an outstanding performance in the 60+ age category, winning gold medals in the 100m and 60m sprint events and a silver medal in the long jump, showcasing his remarkable fitness, dedication and sporting excellence. In the 50+ category, Ajay Pal Gill secured three silver medals in discus throw, hammer throw and javelin throw, contributing significantly to Jammu and Kashmir’s medal tally.
The event held on June 6 and 7, witnessed participation from 20 States and Union Territories, with large number of athletes competing across various categories. According to reports, the athletes were warmly welcomed by civil society members upon their return after their superb performances. Surjeet Choudhary has won numerous medals at national and international levels in recent years, consistently bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir and India in masters athletics.
