JAMMU, June 5: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), District Jammu, today concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Cricket competition for Under-14 Boys at Khel Gaon Nagrota with an exciting final between Zone Jammu and Zone Bhalwal.
After winning the toss, Zone Jammu elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 143 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted innings. Viraj emerged as the top scorer for Zone Jammu with a valuable knock of 47 runs. For Zone Bhalwal, Rudraush delivered an impressive bowling performance and claimed three wickets.
In reply, Zone Bhalwal fought hard but was bowled out for 119 runs. Arov played a brilliant innings of 53 runs and was the highest scorer for his team. However, the target proved challenging as the Jammu bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings. Iqbal starred with the ball for Zone Jammu, taking three crucial wickets to help his side secure victory. With this 24-run win, Zone Jammu was crowned champion of the Inter-Zonal District Level U-14 Boys Cricket Competition.
