JAMMU, June 3: Dr Varun Suthra, Member of the FIVB Communications Commission and Director of International Relations at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), visited the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) headquarters in Ankara to study its organizational structure and development model.
The visit, undertaken on the recommendation of FIVB President Fabio Azevedo and accompanied by TVF Director of International Relations and Organization Nilufer Shimonsky, aimed at gaining insights into Turkish volleyball’s success and exploring best practices that could benefit the sport’s growth in India.
During the visit, Dr Suthra met TVF President Mehmet Akif Ustundag and discussed the federation’s systematic approach, sustainable development model and strategic management practices that have contributed to Turkey’s rise as a global volleyball powerhouse.
After touring the federation’s facilities and grassroots development programmes, Dr Suthra praised TVF’s institutional vision, modern infrastructure and strong focus on youth development. He described Turkey as an inspiring model for volleyball development and said the visit provided valuable lessons that could help strengthen the sport’s ecosystem in India.
