GNN Jammu Hockey League begins

JAMMU, June 3: The GNN Jammu Hockey League (U-19) 2026 commenced on an exciting note with Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club registering a convincing 5-0 victory over MBS Hockey Club Simnal in the opening league match played at Jammu.
Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club dominated the match from the beginning, displaying strong teamwork, disciplined defence and sharp attacking skills to secure a comprehensive win. The young players impressed with their technique and sportsmanship, reflecting the rising standard of hockey in Jammu and Kashmir.
The opening ceremony and match were graced by Rajeev Sharma as the chief guest, while Manjeet Singh, President, Sikh for All, attended as guest of honour.
Prominent dignitaries present included Rajinder Singh Sudan, Balwinder Singh (Member, DGPC), Swarn Singh, Ranbir Singh (Member, DGPC), Jagpal Singh (Member, DGPC), Dr Taran Singh (General Secretary, Hockey J&K), Tejinder Singh (Secretary, Hockey J&K), and Jaswinder Kour (Vice President, Hockey J&K). The league will continue on June 4 with two matches scheduled at 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, aimed at promoting grassroots hockey in the region.
