JAMMU, June 3: Army Public School Damana organised a five-day Capacity Building Programme for educators on the theme “Innovation and Inclusion,” aimed at enhancing professional competencies and promoting inclusive education.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Pushpinder Kaur, who stressed continuous professional development, innovative pedagogical practices, work ethics, safety and security and creating supportive classrooms for students’ academic and emotional growth. Each day began with yoga and meditation sessions.
Key resource persons included Dr Neha Rajput, who conducted a session on menstrual health and hygiene; Nisha Pandita, who sensitised teachers on the POCSO Act 2012; dietician Manmeet Kour and physiotherapist Akriti from VLCC, who spoke on wellness and lifestyle; Dr Poonam Tandon, who trained teachers on competency-based assessments; and Dr Devedika from CRC, who discussed early identification and intervention of learning differences.
Internal sessions covered NEP 2020 themes including FLN with values, AI and computational thinking, language learning, heritage integration, ethics, and student safety, along with parenting and first aid training by paramedic Kajal.
