JAMMU, May 6: The Jammu & Kashmir team delivered a strong performance at Sambo National Championship 2026 held at VK Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium, Calicut, Kerala, under the banner of the Sambo India Association, securing two silver and one bronze medal.
The medals were won by the J&K girls’ team, with Anamika Sharma and Palak claiming silver medals, while Deepti Choudhary secured a bronze medal through an impressive performance.
In recognition of their achievement, the medal winners were felicitated by President of the J&K Olympic Association, Dushyant Sharma, who appreciated their dedication and hard work.
The team was coached by Aruna Sharma Bhau, General Secretary of the Sambo Association of Jammu and Kashmir, whose guidance played a key role in the team’s success. Members of the association including Vice President Sankalp Kamal, Joint Secretary Aman Sharma and CEO Brijesh Bhau were also present on the occasion.
President of the Sambo Association of J&K, Rajeev Sharma, congratulated the athletes and stated that the achievement reflects the growing strength of Sambo in the region and will motivate young players to excel at higher levels.
