DODA, Mar 30: Acting on the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, Doda Police organised a Volleyball Tournament under its Civic Action Programme to promote youth engagement and strengthen police-community relations. The event was held at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Gowari, Gandoh Bhalessa, under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh.
Eight teams from different areas of Gandoh Bhalessa participated, displaying enthusiasm, teamwork, and sporting spirit. The final match saw SHCT Volleyball Club, Gowari face Shining Stars Volleyball Club, Bharti in a competitive showdown. SHCT Volleyball Club, Gowari emerged as the winner, receiving a cash prize of Rs 5,000, while the runner-up team, Shining Stars Volleyball Club, Bharti, was awarded Rs 3,000. Certificates, mementos and trophies were also presented to all participants.
The event was supported by local residents and civil society members, who appreciated J&K Police’s initiative to engage youth in constructive activities.
