District Jammu clinches overall Wushu Champion title

JAMMU, Mar 30: District Jammu emerged as the overall champion at 19th UT J&K Wushu Championship 2025, held at the Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The district Jammu clinched 57 medals, including 15 gold, 14 silver and 28 bronze, showcasing dominance and exceptional performance across all categories.
The culminating ceremony was graced by chief guest Satish Sharma and guest of honour Javeed ul Rehman. The event was hosted by the Wushu Association of J&K, with Bhavneet presenting the welcome address and highlighting the achievements of Wushu in 2025-26. Approximately 1,200 players from 25 teams, including J&KUT districts, five Khelo India centres and the J&K Police, participated in the championship.
The chief guest appreciated the Wushu Association for providing youth a platform to excel nationally and internationally. Other dignitaries present included Maqsood Rather, Yash Pal, Ajaz Ahmad, Lalit Singh and district heads. In the medal tally, the 2nd runner-up was Khelo India Centre Jammu with 25 medals (Gold – 9, Silver – 7, Bronze – 9), while District Srinagar finished as runner-up with 26 medals (Gold – 12, Silver – 7, Bronze – 7).
