JAMMU, Feb 14: The day-three of J&K Open Men & Women Tennis Championship witnessed many ups and downs for the players as women’s singles final and men’s doubles final sieved champions.
Arushi Kumari clinched the UT Open Women’s Singles title with a commanding straight-sets victory over Palak Sahu, winning by 6-4, 6-3. Arushi displayed remarkable consistency from the baseline and maintained control during crucial points to seal the championship in style. The duo of Hardeep Singh and SSP Sajjad Bhat lifted the UT Open Men’s Doubles trophy after defeating Gurleen Singh and Shourya Pratap Singh 6-1, 6-4 in a dominant performance.
Earlier in the tournament, Romit Sharma secured his semifinal berth with a 9-4 victory over Arurh Bhanu Khajuria in the UT Open Men’s Quarterfinals, showcasing confident shot-making and steady control throughout the match.
In the men’s singles semi-final, Gurleen Singh delivered an impressive performance to overcome Romit Sharma in straight sets, winning 6-4, 7-5. Gurleen’s tactical discipline and composure under pressure ensured his progression after a closely contested encounter.
