DYSS holds U-17 selection trials

JAMMU, Feb 13: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, organised selection trials for U-17 boys in Volleyball, Football and Cricket at district headquarters to engage youth in positive sporting activities. The trials were conducted at Khel Gaon Nagrota and University Ground Jammu, with more than 300 participants taking part.
The event was organised under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma. The initiative aims to provide a competitive platform for young players to showcase their talent and channel their energy into constructive pursuits. The primary objective of the trials is to engage youth in games and sports, steering them away from social evils and drug addiction.
The trials were conducted by departmental technical officials under the supervision of concerned conveners, including Ajay Sharma (Convener Football), Naresh Kumar (Convener Volleyball) and Sandeepan Sharma (Convener Cricket). Various committees were also constituted to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the competitions across venues in District Jammu.
