JAMMU, Aug 5: The J&K State players shone at the 2nd International Thang Ta Championship, organized by the World Thang Ta Federation, under the banner of World Martial Arts Union-Corp in association with Korean Thang Ta Federation and Asian Thang Ta Federation jointly at Chung Ju South Korea, recently.
10 countries across the world took part in this mega championship, which included Cambodia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Ukraine, Sri Lanka & host South Korea.
15 members across the country represented India and got third place in the overall championship, which included 7 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Uzbekistan emerged title winners with 10 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, followed by the runners-up, the Philippines with 8 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The medalist of the Indian team included Mahavir (Maharstra), M Iqbal (J&K), Ayjaz (J&K), Zakariya (J&K), Hepari Meetei (Manipur), Sumiya (J&K), Feroz (J&K) (All gold); Sibat (J&K) Suhail (J&K) and Tanmay (Maharastra) (All silver);
Ubaid (J&K), Maleeha (J&K) and Faisal (J&K) (bronze).
