JAMMU, Jan 16: The second day of the ongoing 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy (Men & Women) Championship 2025–26 was conducted at University of Jammu campus, witnessing keenly contested matches and impressive athletic performances. Organized by Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, the four-day championship has brought together more than 800 athletes from universities and institutions across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and neighbouring States, reflecting the region’s growing sporting culture.
In Table Tennis (Men), MIET Jammu and University of Jammu registered convincing victories by 3–0 over SKUAST Jammu, while IUST Awantipura edged past SMVDU Katra by 3–2 and SMVDU Katra defeated Cluster University Jammu by 3–0. Badminton (Women) matches saw SMVDU Katra, University of Kashmir, SKUAST Jammu and Cluster University of Jammu record straight-set wins, with Cluster University Jammu also defeating SKUAST Jammu by 2–0.
In Kabaddi (Men), Cluster University of Jammu dominated BGSBU Rajouri and SKUAST Jammu, while the University of Jammu secured a five-point victory over SMVDU Katra. Volleyball (Men) matches witnessed Central University Jammu, University of Ladakh and University of Kashmir winning their respective fixtures in straight sets. Football (Men) encounters saw the University of Jammu defeat GNDU Amritsar by 4–1, University of Ladakh beat IUST Awantipora by 2–1 and Cluster University Srinagar outplay Trikuta Group of Colleges by 4–0.
In Kho-Kho (Women), University of Jammu beat Central University of Jammu by 05 points (10-05), Cluster University of Jammu beat Central University of Jammu by 02 points (12-10), Cluster University of Jammu beat BGSBU Rajouri by 06 points (12-06) and BGSBU Rajouri beat Central University of Jammu by 08 (18-10).
In the 4×400m relay (Women), the University of Jammu team of Sweety, Ankita, Gyan and Khushi won gold with a time of 5:43.21, followed by Muskan, Komal, Shagun and Sakshi of Cluster University Jammu, while Janvi, Nandita, Disha and Diksha of SMVDU Katra finished third. In the 4×400m relay (Men), Utkarsh, Tofail, Sameer and Ravinder (University of Jammu) secured first place. Keshiv Chib (University of Jammu) won the men’s long jump with 6.02 m, ahead of Neeraj (SMVDU Katra) and Anish (University of Jammu).
The matches on the second day were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ranbir Singh, Dr Inderjeet Singh, Harinderpal Singh, Rishiv Sharma, Richa Mandla, Sakshi Dabgotra, Jeevan Lal, Arjun Sharma, Mena Ragesh and Anil Singh, who ensured fair play and strict adherence to the rules and regulations of the respective games.
