JAMMU, Jan 15: The Inter-District UT Level Soft Ball Competition for U-14 and U-17 girls concluded at Khel Goan, Nagrota, here today The championship was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu. The event was held under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
The competition provided a strong platform for young players to showcase their talent and helped in identifying the best players for upcoming competitions. Around 250 players drawn from 10 districts of the Jammu Division participated in the event. The matches were conducted by departmental experts including Hardev Singh, Harvinder Singh, Madan Mohan, Amlok Singh, Rakesh Singh, Varinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, along with other technical officials.
In the U-17 girls category, District Srinagar emerged champions. In the semifinals, District Srinagar defeated District Jammu by 6-4 runs, while District Pulwama beat District Budgam by 5-3 runs. In the final, District Srinagar outclassed District Pulwama by 8-0 runs.
In the U-14 girls category, District Kulgam clinched the title. District Kulgam defeated District Pulwama by 10-0 runs in the first semifinal, while District Srinagar beat District Budgam by 21-3 runs in the second semifinal. In the final, District Kulgam defeated District Srinagar by 13-3 runs.
