JAMMU, Jan 7: Nita Ambani described the second edition of ‘United in Triumph’ as a collective expression of gratitude from the nation as she honoured India’s three World Cup-winning cricket teams – men’s, women’s and blind women’s – at a special ceremony in Mumbai.
Calling it a fitting way to begin the New Year, Nita Ambani said the gathering brought together all three champion teams under one roof to acknowledge the joy and pride they have given to the country. She remarked that the event was organized on behalf of every Indian to celebrate their historic achievements and the happiness they inspired nationwide.
Highlighting the unifying power of sport, Nita Ambani said that sports have the unique ability to connect hearts and strengthen national unity. She added that the occasion symbolized India being “united in triumph” as the nation came together to celebrate the victories of its champions.
The event paid special tribute to the three World Cup-winning captains – Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepika TC – recognizing their leadership, resilience and belief that guided their teams to landmark successes.
Several members of the World Cup-winning squads, including Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Ganga Kadam, were present. The ceremony also witnessed the attendance of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Ravichandran Ashwin, Olympic and Paralympic icons Murlikant Petkar, Deepa Malik and Devendra Jhajaharia, along with film personalities Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
