J&K players shine at National Karate C’ship in Indore

JAMMU, Jan 6: A contingent of 34 players and five officials from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the National Karate Championship organized by Karate India and hosted by the Madhya Pradesh Karate Association in Indore from January 2 to 6.
The Championship witnessed spirited performances by Karatekas from across the country, with the J&K team putting up an impressive show and securing multiple medals in different categories. Naresh Chander and Umesh Rekhi from the Traditional Karate Association of J&K served as tournament directors during the national-level event.
J&K players dominated the medal tally, winning several gold medals. Anirudh Tripathi, Ojasvi, Lovish and Abhay clinched gold medals in their respective events. Aarav added to the team’s success by winning a silver medal. Tejasvi and Keshav also secured silver medals, highlighting the strong technical and competitive skills of the J&K contingent.
In the bronze category, Arnav, Kanwar, Preetika, Kashvi, Sahil Jain, Arun Dev and Rajveer finished on the podium, further strengthening the overall performance of the team at the Championship.
