J&K thrashes Chandigarh by 10 wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy

JAMM, Dec 24: Jammu & Kashmir registered a dominant 10-wicket victory over Chandigarh in their Vijay Hazare One-Day Trophy match at Sanosara Cricket Ground B, Rajkote producing a clinical all-round performance. Bowlers, led by Lone Nasir Muzaffar, laid the foundation before openers Qamran Iqbal and Shubham Khajuria completed the chase in emphatic fashion.
Chasing a gettable 209, J&K openers Qamran and Shubham scripted an unbroken 209-run partnership, romping home in just 42.5 overs. Shubham’s gritty masterpiece of 130 off 106 balls—adorned with 20 boundaries—exemplified unyielding tenacity, while Qamran’s elegant 72 off 116 (7 fours) blended flair and solidity in a symphony of dominance.
Earlier, electing to bowl first, J&K’s attack crumbled Chandigarh for 208 in 39.5 overs. Taranpreet Singh led the resistance with 43 off 51 (6 fours), backed by Tushar Joshi’s 42 off 57 (3 boundaries). Arslan Z. Khan chipped in a brisk 27 off 21 (6 fours), with Vishu unbeaten on 22. Lone Nasir Muzaffar spearheaded the bowling fireworks, claiming 4-44 in 9 overs. Aquib Nabi (2-26 in 8) and Abid Mushtaq (2 wickets) struck crucial blows, while Murugan Ashwin took one.
