UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Udhampur, conducted matches of the Inter-District UT-Level Under-17 Boys Cricket Tournament across multiple venues in district today, showcasing budding cricketing talent from the region.
In the opening match, Kupwara batted first and scored 102 runs before being bowled out in 14 overs. Anantnag chased the target in 11.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Jumaid Muzaffer starred with a quickfire 44 off 27 balls, while Kasib Bashir claimed two wickets. Anantnag defeated Kupwara by 8 wickets.
At DPL Ground, Budgam posted 135/8 in 15 overs, with notable contributions from Fasil Ali (43) and Basit Aslam (21). Bandipora were bowled out for 99 in 13.4 overs, with Atif Manzoor top-scoring 18 runs. Nisar and Aslam picked three wickets each, handing Budgam a comfortable victory.
At Ground No 3, Kulgam scored 139/9, narrowly defeating Ramban, who managed 137, by 3 runs. In the second match, Jammu chased down Baramulla’s 136/5, scoring 137/3. Karanveer shone with 50 runs off 27 balls, while Prabhmeet Singh, Usman Bhatti, and Karanveer took crucial wickets.
At SKPA Ground, Pulwama comfortably chased Kishtwar’s 123/3, scoring the target in 9.4 overs, with Rafid (53) and Munazil (56) leading the chase. In the second match, Ganderbal dominated Reasi, winning by 121 runs, with Mehboob scoring 53 and Rasees and Mubasir taking three wickets each.
The tournament continues across various venues in Udhampur, providing young cricketers a competitive platform to hone their skills and showcase talent.
