JAMMU, Nov 28: The 42nd Junior (Boys & Girls) National Tennikoit Championship, a five-day sporting event, entered its third day today at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Organized by the J&K Tennikoit Association under the auspices of the Tennikoit Federation of India (TKFI) in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the Championship saw the presence of Gaurav Gupta, spokesperson BJP J&K and secretary Jammu Club as chief guest, and Jewel Versa, chairperson TKFI as guest of honour.
Day three featured a series of intense quarter-final and semi-final matches. In the quarter-finals, Tamil Nadu defeated Telangana 3-0 in Girls Doubles; Tamil Nadu defeated Jharkhand by 2-0 in Mixed Doubles; Kerala defeated Maharashtra by 2-0 in Mixed Doubles; Pondicherry defeated J&K by 2-0 in Mixed Doubles; Andhra Pradesh defeated Karnataka by 2-1 in Mixed Doubles; and Karnataka defeated Maharashtra by 3-1 in Mixed Doubles.
The semi-finals saw Kerala defeat Tamil Nadu by 2-0 in Mixed Doubles, Andhra Pradesh defeat Pondicherry by 2-0 in Mixed Doubles, Tamil Nadu beat Pondicherry by 3-0 in the Boys Team Championship, Maharashtra beat Karnatakaby 3-1 in the Boys Team Championship, and Pondicherry beat Kerala by 3-2 in the Girls Team Championship.
Matches were conducted by the technical panel of TKFI under the supervision of Technical Committee chairman K N V Satyanarayan (AP) and convener D Shankar (TN).
With two days remaining, the Championship is set to continue showcasing competitive encounters.
