JAMMU, Nov 27: The Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu organised an inspiring Youth Convention & Prize Distribution Ceremony at its RK Vihar campus in Udheywala, bringing together students from 27 schools, revered monks, guests, teachers and parents. The event began with the lighting of the lamp and Vedic chanting, followed by the Swadesh Mantra led by Swami Vijayeshananda, invoking patriotism and inner strength.
A series of cultural and literary presentations highlighted the talent of young participants. Performances included an opening song by Sabhya Koul (GD Goenka School), a speech by Simranpreet (APS Cantonment), a thought-provoking drama by DPS Jammu, an address by Tamana (Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra) and a melodious song by Varun Bhagat (Jammu Sanskriti School). Dr. Mukteshi Sharma also presented a devotional musical piece.
Swami Atmanishthananda Maharaj delivered the Benediction, while Swami Yajnadharananda Maharaj, Secretary, welcomed and felicitated guests. Chief guest B M Sharma, Principal Secretary, Culture, emphasised value-based education in his address.
Prizes were awarded by the Swamijis and dignitaries, with DPS Jammu securing first place. The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, including Bollywood actress Parvati Sehgal, renowned singer Seema Anil Sehgal, Pandit Ashish Sharma, Ravi Raghuvanshi, Dr. Mukteshi Sharma, Sahil Nath, Ankur Kesar, Vikas Dogra, Rachita Dutta, Raman Gupta, Advocate Gayatri Jamwal, RJ Sarang and Kuldeep Khajuria, whose presence added prestige and warmth to the occasion.
