RAJOURI, Nov 26: The Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa Memorial District-Level Cricket Tournament, underway at Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School Rajouri, witnessed an impressive performance today as Zone Doongi clinched a commanding win over Zone Kalakote in the 8th match of the tournament. Batting first, Zone Doongi posted the highest total of the event so far, scoring 212 runs with a strong all-round display. In reply, Zone Kalakote struggled to build partnerships and were dismissed for under 100 runs, handing Zone Doongi a comprehensive victory.
The tournament is being organized under the leadership of Principal Mohammad Muslim Wani to honour the supreme sacrifice of Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, who laid down his life during Operation Sindoor.
President Press Club Thannamandi, Imran Khan, appreciated the initiative, praising the school administration for promoting discipline, positive engagement, and a meaningful social message through sports. More matches are scheduled in the coming days.
