Jammu hosts 18th Inter-District Musical Competition

JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu’s rich cultural heritage was celebrated as Sat Yug Darshan Sangeet Kala Kendra organized the 18th Inter-District Musical Competition at Abhinav Theatre, Canal Road Auditorium, with participation from over 580 students representing 28 schools. The event showcased music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, promoting creativity, discipline, and cultural values among young performers.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu, who emphasized discipline, awareness, and responsible digital behaviour. Guest of honour Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Spokesperson BJP) encouraged students to stay away from substance abuse and make positive choices.
The event was also attended by singer Raja Vijaypuria, Inspector Azad Manhas, social worker Dinesh Kohli, Deependra Kant (Principal, Sat Yug Darshan Sangeet Kala Kendra), Dr. Atul Hans (Director Academics & Principal, International Delhi Rising School), Dr. Vishnu Govind Verma (Principal) and Daljit Singh. The judging panel comprised Prof. Ashwani Kathak, Adv. Ravinder Kaur Reet and Vikram.
Winners included Stephen’s International School (Solo Singing – Classical), Army Public School, Sunjwan (Group Song – Devotional), International Delhi Public School (Solo Classical Dance), Carmel Convent School (Group Dance – Folk), Aryan Public Senior Secondary School (Group Dance – Devotional), Maharishi Vidya Mandir (Nukkad Natak) and International Daily Rising School (Rangoli). City Coordinator, Prince Chhabra expressed gratitude to all the guests in concluding speech.
