JAMMU, Nov 7: The District Jammu Softball Championship 2025–26 commenced with great excitement at GGM Science College, Jammu, organized by the J&K Sports Council in collaboration with the District Jammu Softball Association. A total of 25 teams from various clubs and schools are participating across multiple categories.
The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Romesh Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College, as the chief guest and Dr. Lokinder Singh, Warden, GGM Science College, as the special guest. Both praised the efforts of the organizers for promoting softball among youth. Adv. Pushvinder Singh, Secretary, District Jammu Softball Association, thanked Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, for her continuous support in sports promotion.
In the Boys Sub-Junior category, Evergreen Club Raipur Satwari emerged winners, followed by APS Akhnoor Club and SGSD International Domana. The Boys Junior category was won by Evergreen Club Chhanni Rama, with Domana Club and Tejasvi Club finishing second and third. In the Girls Sub-Junior category, SGSD International Domana won first place, while Wazir Jankinath Evergreen Youngsters and WS Club secured the next positions. The Girls Junior category saw Evergreen Club Raipur Satwari clinching gold, followed by Makwal Club and SGSD International Domana. Matches were officiated by Harvinder Singh, Madan Mohan, Ayush Singh and Pawan Kumar.
