JAMMU, Nov 6: The 4th Children’s Science Festival was held at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) here today, with more than 150 students from various schools in the region taking part.
The event aimed to ignite scientific curiosity among young minds and encourage exploration in research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Students had the chance to visit the institute’s laboratories, interact with scientists, and get a firsthand look at ongoing scientific work.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director of CSIR-IIIM Jammu, emphasized that the energy and curiosity of students were the “guiding lights” for India’s future. He encouraged them to view science not just as a subject but as an integral part of life, shaping progress across all sectors. Er. Abdul Rahim, Chief Scientist at IIIM, urged students to pursue science with commitment and passion, highlighting its role in developing creativity and problem-solving skills.
In the quiz competition, Anuradh and Prabjeet from Army Public School, Jammu Cantt claimed the first prize. Saksham and Swastik from Cambridge International School, Jammu secured the second position, while Kavya Gupta and Afreen Nair from RRL High School bagged the third prize.
In the model presentation competition, Aditya and Naksha from Army Public School, Jammu Cantt emerged as the winners. Tajesvini and Sanna from RRL High School took the second spot, while Avadh and Dilshaan from Army Public School secured third place.
The slogan writing competition saw Arnav from Cambridge International School winning first prize with a creative and impactful slogan. Kavita from Army Public School, Jammu Cantt came second and Sunina Negi from GGHSS Canal Road took third.
In the debate competition, Mauri and Kaavya Arnav from RRL High School emerged as the winners, delivering impressive speeches. Arinjay Wali from Army Public School, Jammu Cantt secured second place, while Radhika from GGHSS Canal Road claimed third position.
