District Jammu dominates U-19 Table Tennis C’ships

JAMMU, Nov 4: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded the Inter-District UT Level Competitions in Gymnastics (AAG) and Table Tennis U-19 Boys and Girls at the Indoor Hall, MA Stadium, Jammu.
Over 150 students from various districts of J&K UT participated in the competitions. In Table Tennis U-19 Boys, District Jammu won the gold medal, defeating District Udhampur by 3-2 in a thrilling final. Gourav, Shivaansh and Rudrakesh represented Jammu, while Lakshdev Singh, Antriksh and Purshotam played for Udhampur. District Poonch secured bronze, beating District Baramulla by 3-0, with Dhiren, Ashutosh, and Inzaman leading the side.
In Table Tennis U-19 Girls, District Jammu outplayed District Kathua by 3-0 to claim gold, with Chitrani, Toheena and Nansi starring. District Kathua took silver (Bhargani, Nikita, Sakshi), while District Rajouri clinched bronze, defeating District Budgam by 3-0, led by Palak, Neha and Tania.
In Gymnastics, District Jammu athletes dominated multiple categories across age groups. In Under-14 Boys, Trisnisva claimed first place in Floor Exercise, followed by Veerabhadra Singh (2nd) and Trishant (3rd), while in Vault Table, Veerabhadra Singh Chib took first, Lakshya Mehra second and Trisnisva third. In the Under-17 Boys category, Deepesh (Samba) won Floor Exercise, with Heealal (Kathua) second and Kavya (Jammu) third; in Vault Table, Kavya secured first, Deepesh second, and Devansh (Kathua) third. For Under-19 Boys, Shivam (Jammu) topped Floor Exercise, followed by Mohd. Tauyub (Kathua) and Shine (Jammu), while in Vault Table, Shine claimed first, Shivam second and Ritik (Kathua) third.
Medals and certificates were distributed by the officials and technical experts including Rekha Rather, Gaurav Kumar, Gurdeepika, Vikram Dogra, Harjot Kour, Maheep Saathia, Omeshwar Sanyal, Neeru Jablia, Mayank, Honey and Kamal Singh.
