Jammu Police wrestler Ishaq lifts 6th Kalka Kesari Dangal Title

REASI, Oct 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police wrestler Ishaq Ahmed clinched the 6th Kalka Kesari Dangal Title by defeating Sonu of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh in a high-voltage first malli bout that lasted nine minutes at Kalka Akhara, Nai Basti, Reasi.
Ahmed was honoured with a cash award of Rs 61,000, while runner-up Sonu received Rs 40,000. The Kanta Kushti Dangal was organized by Kalka Akhara Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the guidance of Surma Singh, Balwan Singh and Bhawani Singh.
Former Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, was the chief guest who distributed Rs 2,70,000 in total cash prizes among the winners and runner-up wrestlers.
The 2nd malli bout was won by Fraed of Jalandhar in Punjab who defeated Nisar of J&K Police of Doda and received a cash award of Rs 31,000 against Rs 20,000 awarded to runner-up Nisar. The 3rd malli bout went in favour of Anil of Kalka Akhara who defeated Neeru Gujjar of BSF Delhi and was awarded Rs 18,000 while Neeru received Rs 13,000. Another 3rd malli bout saw Surjit Singh of J&K Police Reasi defeat Raffi of Hoshiarpur in Punjab and secure Rs 18,000, whereas Raffi got Rs 13,000.
The 4th bout was claimed by Muneer of J&K Police Nagrota who defeated Yov Raj of Kheri in Punjab and received Rs 15,000, with the runner-up getting Rs 10,000. In all, 79 bouts were played during the Dangal. The 5th bout was won by Dillar Khan of J&K Police who defeated Yov Raj of Zirakpur (Chandigarh). The 6th bout went to Deep of Bishanpur in Punjab who outplayed Mam Hussain of Domel, while the 7th bout was won by Chain Singh of Reasi who defeated Parveen of Pathankot in Punjab.
