Cricket Tourney inaugurated at SP College

SRINAGAR, Aug 11: The Department of Physical Education of SP College organized Inter Group Cricket Tournament wherein 8 groups are participating.
Principal, Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Shah inaugurated the tournament and declared it open today. The Principal of the college interacted with the two participating teams before start of the match and advised the student players to take part in the curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the college authorities from time to time and every facility will be provided by the College Administration in this regard.
He called on student players to always maintain discipline in and outside the sports field and play the game with sportsman spirit.
Today the inaugural cricket match was played between Neptune and Mercury groups, Neptune group won the match by 6 wickets.
Besides the cricket tournament, the Physical Education Department also organized Badminton Tournament in which Sun and Mercury group emerged as finalists of the tournament.
The Badminton final was played today in which the Sun group defeated the Mercury group by 2-1. Principal, Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Shah presented the trophies.
