JAMMU, Oct 14: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu organized the Inter-Collegiate Wrestling (Men) Tournament 2025-26 at the Gymnasium Hall of the University. Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, was the chief guest on the occasion.
In the 57 Kg category, Tofail Jan from GDC Doda clinched the gold medal, Mohd. Saleem from GDC Kathua won silver, while Shubam Sharma (GDC Khour) and Shivam (PG Deptt. JU) shared the bronze. In 61 Kg, Narinder (GDC Khour) secured gold, Vinkal Bhagat (GDC Doda) took silver, and Vishal Bhagat (GDC Paloura) and Gagan Singh (GDC Basholi) won bronze. In 65 Kg, Parvez (BDC Udhampur) bagged gold, Vasu Partap (GCET Jammu) silver, and Tosif (GDC Doda) and Sarbjeet (GDC Billawar) bronze. The 70 Kg category saw Azad Ali (GDC Reasi) win gold, Gurmahar (GDC Kunjwani) silver, and Kartik (GDC Hiranagar) and Vir Bahadur (GDC Basohli) bronze. In 74 Kg, Yaseer (GDC Reasi) won gold, Harsh (GDC Hiranagar) silver and Mohit (GDC Kathua) and Usman (GCET Jammu) bronze. In 79 Kg, Haqiqat Singh (GDC Paloura) won gold, Rahul (GDC Akhnoor) silver, and Krishanav (GCET Jammu) and Krish (GDC Samba) bronze. In 86 Kg, Tofeq (GDC Reasi) secured gold, Adanan (GDC Doda) silver, while Gourav Jarial (PG Deptt. JU) and Nandishwar (GCET Jammu) took bronze. In 92 Kg, Ritish (GDC Nowshera) won gold, Jagmohan (PG Deptt. JU) silver, and Shahrukh Khan (GDC Kathua) and Nandishwar (GCET Jammu) bronze. Sachin (GDC Nowshera) won gold in 97 Kg, Goutam (PG Deptt. JU) silver, and Bhaskar (GDC Kathua) bronze. In the 125 Kg category, Asif Ansari (MIET Jammu) took gold and Vansh Sharma (GDC Samba) secured silver.
The Overall Championship was bagged by GDC Reasi, scoring 15 points, while GDC Doda finished runners-up. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of technical officials including Dr. Kamal Sharma, Muskan Rajput, Aditiya Singh Chib, Upasna, Hariveer Singh, Vipin Kaith and Jai Bharat, ensuring smooth and fair conduct of matches.
