POONCH, Oct 14: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Poonch, organized the Inter District Division Level Competitions in Hockey (All Age Groups, Boys & Girls) and Football (Under-17 Girls), under the YSS Activity Calendar 2025-26. Hockey matches were held at the Hockey Astro Turf Ground, while football fixtures took place at the Sports Stadium, Poonch.
The event was inaugurated by Tahir Mustafa Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who motivated athletes with the message, “Say no to drugs, yes to sports.” He commended DYSS for its continuous efforts to promote sports culture in the district.
Mohd Qasim, DYSSO Poonch, supervised the events, while Vijay Kumar, Activity Incharge, ensured smooth coordination. A selection committee oversaw the trials, maintaining transparency in choosing top-performing athletes for higher-level competitions. Staff from ZPEO, PEL, PEM, PET and REK played a key role in conducting the events.
