JAMMU, Oct 8: The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) delivered an outstanding performance at Convoquer 2025, the inter-collegiate sports fest organized by IIT Jammu, clinching the overall championship title.
Competing against premier institutions from across the region, CUJ athletes showcased exemplary skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork, securing multiple medals across various events.
The university secured Gold medals in E-Sports, led by Vamshi Dhar Reddy, and Table Tennis (Team), led by Snigdha. Sudhansh bagged a Silver in Table Tennis (Singles), while Pankaj led the team to a Bronze in Football. In team sports, CUJ earned Silver in Basketball under Prachi Desai’s leadership and Silver in Volleyball led by Akhil Sharma, along with a Bronze in Volleyball by Ishika Sharma’s team. Aditya Yadav secured a Bronze in Chess.
Congratulating the medalists, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, praised the students’ determination and assured continued support for enhancing the university’s sporting culture. Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Sharma, Director, Physical Education, lauded the athletes’ efforts and reiterated the university’s commitment to holistic student development. Faculty members including Dr. R. Sudhakar, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Jai Bhawani, Dr. Neerendra Kumar and Khushboo (I/c Sports) also motivated the students for future competitions.
