Junior Ranking Badminton Tourney underway

JAMMU, Oct 5: The Yonex Sunrise Junior Ranking cum Selection Badminton Tournament for Under-19 Boys and Girls is underway on its second day at the Badminton Hall, MA Stadium, Jammu. Organized by the Badminton Association of Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the tournament aims to select the best junior players to represent the Union Territory at the upcoming Junior Nationals in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
All matches are being officiated under the expert supervision of SAI Badminton coaches Touseef Ahmad and Vikram Saini.
Today’s notable results in Boys Singles (U19) include Shourya Pratham defeating Abhishek Dogra (21-12, 21-16), Thakur Aneesh overcoming Vansh Dahiya (21-14, 21-15) and Udyan Sharma beating Kartik Gupta (21-16, 21-18), Murad (Srinagar) beat Vaibhav Mehta by 12-21, 14-21 and Bhavdeep beat Mayank (Udhampur) by 21-19,21-13.
In Girls Singles, Skiedeep won against Suhani Sharma (21-15, 21-17), while Paavni was defeated by Snowy Goswami (12-21, 16-21). In mixed doubles, Samaksh and Antima triumphed over Shaourya and Paavni (21-15, 21-19).
